The Big Dog journey has been amazing, both the ups and the downs. The official Big Dog Motorcycle website says that 30,000 bikes are delivered globally. In 1994, Sheldon Coleman, being dissatisfied with the bikes that were on the market, brought in a mechanic and tried to come up with a bike that he would want to ride. It paid off and Big Dog Motorcycles was born. The company is based out of Wichita, Kansas. Their first bike was known as the "Old Smokey," a bike that was a pioneer for a generation of other bikes with their distinctive oversized fenders.
